Gruss --> excel --> VB code

Postby crickinfo » Thu May 08, 2025 12:28 pm

Guys,
I have a few questions, I can see in gruss I can send prices to an excel sheet and this works. I want to set the time update to 1 second, but I really want to run some VB code I'm writing every time theres a price update and before the next one ? how can I kick off my code once the prices have updated and before the next price update ?

Im looking to keep the prices of a few markets running down the page so top of page is latest price and next row dow is 1 second old price and next row 2 secs price etc etc.

SO I can look for a price and have trigger code thats making sure a price is quite stationary so look at price over a 3 or 5 second period, also nice to chart the prices and my info columns.

That way I dont trigger on a spike in a price or a wide spread.......? if I make a loop in VB then the control will always be in loop and not let Excel update its price ? Any help or guidance.

Also in historical cricket data, can you load up the runs markets as well as match odds? or are they only showing match odds ?

Am I wasting my time here ?

Didnt think they were hard questions. without subscribig, can I see runs markets i cricket? no where says it does or does not ?

How can I trigger a VB script without stopping prices from hitting the sheet ?

I think this example spreadsheet could be a good basis for what you require. It tracks price changes over time and provides a user defined function that returns the price from a given number of seconds ago.

Our historic price data does not include runs markets for cricket.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
