Has Anybody Else Seen This - Odds Not Displayed in Spreadshe

Postby Hovrin » Tue Jul 21, 2015 10:09 am

My spreadsheet is not showing all the odds which is making it very difficult to place bets.
Please see screenshot below from this morning.
Is anybody else seeing this? Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?

Any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks.

Hovrin,

yes, I am having a similar problem. It has occurred since Saturday since my BA updated from v 18 to v22.

What I am seeing, is that intermittently when BA refreshes I can see zero's in all the columns on the spreadsheets and this is screwing up my VBA code. Sometimes, but not every time it does this, then Column A is zero'ed as well. When it puts zero's in the columns it also flashes up on the spreadsheet (NR) on ALL the horses at the same time, unless of course it clears Column A

I was just going to write for help, when I saw your post.

Gary/Mark is this something to do with the upgrade or is it Betfairs API which is on the blink?
My VBA uses the COM function, which is why it locks up my code on the occasions when Column A is zeroed.

Further to my last reply I have just taken a screenshot to illustrate the problem - trouble is I don't know which buttons to press to get it into this message board!!

Can someone please advise and I'll put it up for Gary/Mark to look at.

Thanks.

Hello again,

I've now worked out how to insert the screenshot. Please see below what I'm seeing on the spreadsheet. Hope this helps to identify the problem.

KESIMKESIM,

Thanks for replying, I was beginning to think it was just me!!

For the record I am also using the COM function, (although I am not seeing as many zero's as you), but it also happens when there is no VBA code running. I suspect this may have started with the update because I don't recall seeing it before, but I can't be sure.

KESIMKESIM looks like yours were flashing as Non runners in the screenshot, I've seen that happen quite a lot where it'll flicker the runners as non runners and lose prices. Yesterday I had problems where the runners names disappeared too, hasn't happened so far today so hard to blame on BA, but I can't think of other reasons why they disapeared tbh.

Thanks for the reply Captain.

I've seen the runners 'flash' NRs before for quite a while, but have never lost prices before, but it is happening quite a lot now. In fact today seems worse than Saturday when I first start losing prices and the runners names.

We'll see what Gary/Mark have to say.

I think the update was something to do with a change with the Ammerican horse race naes so no idea if that's triggering the loss of names in the A column.

Don't use the COM myself and haven't seen any issues with prices disappearing, could that be down to cross match prices being displayed/not displayed via the COM?

Pity there's not a page of previous stable releases we can fall back on in circumstaces like these, ight be an idea for Gary/Mark to consider as most sotware sites have previous releases available.

I don't think it's anything to do with the COM. I'm only using it to move to the next race in the quick pick list. Also I have the same problem even when not running any VBA but just logging the prices to an empty spreadsheet.

I have released version 1.3.0.23 to fix this problem. It should auto update next time you open the application, if it doesn't then use the link below.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
