Cancel-All with PL Trigger

Postby excelhasey » Tue Jun 09, 2015 4:36 pm

If you use the PL trigger and the bet is either laid or the back bet is taken but the selection has not achieved a matched offset bet status and you then trigger a Cancel-All statement - does it do what it says on the tin and cancels all parts of the partial bet that is still open ??

The triggers are all independant so basically a cancel-all trigger will cancel all currently open bets on that runner/row. If you're looking to cancel all runners bets I'd look at CANCEL-ALL-MARKET rather than sending CANCEL-ALL to each runner as it's quicker

If you wanted to keep offsets there's plenty of various cancel triggers that don't seem to have been documented well but cover most situations

Running 1.3.0.22 version

Two races running now had all green but then went into red even though Trigger (Q) was displaying CANCEL-ALL-MARKET but markets were not cancelled and other bets then taken and I lost

Any ideas ??

Has the Bet reference column had something in there when you send the trigger?

I've been having a few problems today too, dunno if it's down to the new version or my coding though as haven't been actiely looking at the markets and just coe across the VBA that I didn't previously. Have to keep a better idea on things tommorrow before making a judgement.

Evening Captain, initially I had nothing in Bet Ref Cols, they where empty as I was using "Clear" also

However, I re-read the help menu and noticed it says the bet ref needs populating (but don't think I have before but only used sporadically in the last few weeks) with anything at all at Gary quotes even "dummy" will do

So, rather than change my formulas I used Q44 (the last of the 40 selections - Col Q = Trigger Col) and got it to say "CANCEL-ALL-MARKET" when all selections are in profit and I thought that would do trick but now I am thinking if there are say 10 horses in a race then the "CANCEL-ALL-MARKET" statement must have to appear in one of the triggers (Col Q) that have selections next to them

Hmmm, having said that if there was 10 runners and I placed a LAY bet on the Favourite and then a BACK bet on same selection and turned all selections green (via lower stake and better odds for BACK bet) and then populated horse 10 (who, say, is the outsider who I have placed no bets on at all) with "CANCEL-ALL-MARKET" in column Q and "Dummy" in corresponding Bet Ref col (Col T or cell T44), I would expect it to do what is says on the tin and CANCEL ALL BETS IN THIS MARKET, so I see no difference to me putting it in Q44 cell ??

I can't see anywhere that tells me what the changes were for versions 1.3.0.20 and then 1.3.0.22, yet on loading up it says official release is 1.3.0.18

Confused

Yes when Gary says even 'Dummy' he's basically saying the bet ref column can't be empty. Basically if it fired when empty it would just continually send CANCEL requests to Betfair and they'd be a bit narked about the amount of requests.

Also it does need to be next to a runner as I'm sure Gruss will have been coded only to monitor active parts of the Betting Sheet, i.e. it sets it range when the market loads and will only monitor the cells where there are runners to make it more efficient again it'd be a waste of resources if it checked to Q44 or even the whole Q column if runners only populated to Q10.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
