COM and Backs under £2

Postby HiArt99 » Tue Apr 28, 2015 4:59 pm

Just recently I have been placing bets at 10p for testing using COM interface as follows:

bet = ba.placeBet(price, "B", min1, stake)

Where min1=1.01, price = 0 (favorite) and stake = 0.10

Sometimes, the bet gets taken but freeses at 0.10 @ 1000, i.e. the code that adjusts the 10p bet back down to 1.01 does not trigger and therefore the bet is never actually placed.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I am using 1.3.0.15, and will update to latest version and try again

OK, ran into another issue with 1.3.0.18 that means I cannot test the above issue.

I have "auto load quick pick when new page selected" ticked, but when I open a new page I get Betting Assistant news, My code is expecting a market. How do I work around this issue?

I will still look to see if I encounter the bet freezing when I place a stake less than £2 and will report back

OK, this is still a problem :(

My code
Code: Select all
                                    bet = ""
                                    Trace.WriteLine(String.Format("{0:HH:mm:ss} placeBet('{1}'), 'B', {2:0.00}, £{3}. Horse {1} is {4}", _
                                                                  Now, price, min1, stake, prices(price).Selection))
                                    While True
                                        'Try
                                        bet = ba.placeBet(price, "B", min1, stake)

and this provided the following in my log

Code: Select all
                      15:09:45 placeBet('0'), 'B', 1.01, £0.2. Horse 0 is Trinity Star

From this trace you can see price=0 and that horse was Trinity Star, min1 = 1.01 ans stake - 0.2 so placeBet(0,"B",1.01,0.2)

The attachment "Bet Manager SS" shows this issue with the bet stuck at 1000
The attachment "Betfair SS" indicates no bets have been made.

I have been using something similar to this code for a while so this is a relatively new issue, For now, I suppose I will have to use the £2 minimum, but that is a pain when testing code.

It was a bug, sorry. Please install version 1.3.0.18e from the link below. It only affected back bets at 1.01 and lay bets at 1000 with below minimum stakes.

I have uninstalled BA and downloaded it from this link but the version in the title still says 1.3.0.18 without e.
Is that intended or an error?

Problem solved. Someone sent me a link that installed 18e.
Only wondering why the link above doesn't do it although it says it does.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
