Fetching Markets - please Wait, in a loopback mode.

Postby Exfundmanager » Sun Apr 19, 2015 7:48 pm

I have been subject to the most irritating experience starting only in the past week, whereby if I have logged out of BA and want to re-load either for the next day or just today again, I get a repetitive "Fetching Markets- nth Try" message, where N has been as high as 90 when i forgot it was trying to load in the background!

The only way round this issue is for me to log off all my apps on my PC and re-start.

Why must i take this drastic and time-consuming course of action?

Hi,

Something has happened to your internet connection that is affecting the connection to the Betfair server.

Basically when it gets stuck in that loop of fetch and retry it is because the data call to the Betfair server to fetch the market data is timing out before a response is received and so it keeps trying.

Quite often a reboot of everything including modem and router will sort it out.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
