excel 2003 - formula?

Postby mak » Mon Nov 25, 2013 3:19 pm

Is there a way through formulas (ideally) to recreate "level profit" column of BA in excel?

Also again ideally with formulas can I calculate what is my level profit position at the given time? (there will be some bets matched or unmatched)

thanks

Hi Mak,

The GreenUp Fast.xlsm file here http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7844 has a formulae which works for Excel 2007+

Here is a reworked version for Excel 2003 but I haven't tested it's performance. https://www.mediafire.com/?jddp4qz31qqfoy6

Both versions include Gary's VBA code which should be disabled to speed things up.

Os hi!

Thanks a lot for your file. I tried it, but for some reason it is very slow.
I even delete all vba code but still "calculating cells" takes to much time.
I need it for in play markets where speed is crucial....

I am sure that you already have made it as efficient as possible, so probably there isn't a faster way to do so.

So probably I'll have to wait for Gary to implement that Green Trigger we are waiting for so long...

Gary PLEASE any news regarding this...

I thought it might be. The Excel 2007+ is very fast and calcs in under 15ms depending on CPU. I'd definitely recommend upgrading Excel to 2010 or 2013

Os hi
you were right with excel 2010 and your xl (GreenUp Fast.xlsm) it is working fine and fast.

I need if and when possible one more thing

in a race I am placing several bets to trade
so each lay bet will have an unmatched back bet waiting to get matched

Is there a way to have in another cell my potential win or lose from all possible trades? (some of them probably will be matched)

The link below has an update which shows the potential position if all unmatched bets were matched and also the potential level profit.

Just download it and going to test it
Is it necessary to run and Gary's green vba in order to function or I could delete it? (don't know if and how I can disable it)

and a last thing (which I thought I could do it)
I need
if cell AQ3 = Close
then run your 2 macros
1st CANCEL-ALL
2nd GREEN

THANKS!

The only code that's required is in Module2 for the 2 buttons. The rest can be commented out or deleted if you don't need it.

Sorry to jump in on the topic but i have older versions of greenup bot that uses VBA code, does this file just use formulas rather than code as i didn't see any other code except for the buttons.

Os or someone..
I have installed excel 2010. All my workbooks were made in excel 2003.
Would they be more efficient (faster or something) if I rewrote them in 2010?

Also and this is for Os
I need in my excel the Level Profit column of BA grid interface. Have you got it by any chance?

Most code written in Excel 2003 will still work in later versions. The only code that may need updating is anything relating to charting or sorting. There are examples around which show Excel 2003 runs some code faster than later versions, however, with BA you have 200ms window in which to run code between refreshes so you won't be able to place bets any quicker if one finishes in 15ms and another in 30ms. There are new features in Excel 2007+ which means some formula can be run quicker as you've already experienced.

Re: the level Profit column of the grid interface, I thought this is what is already in my examples?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
