COM Documentation

Postby Bez » Tue May 29, 2012 9:20 pm

Is there a fuller set of function calls for the COM interface? I have been seeing mention of a COM function called getFullMarketDepth or something similar but this is not in the COM documentation that is on the Help of the current version.
Are there any COM users out there?
I'm writing an Access database that uses COM and I'm missing a few things. What immediately springs to mind is how do I get the proper race name i.e. Ayr 2:30 7f hurdle or similar.
Any help offered is most appreciated.

Hi,

I believe you mean getMarketDepth.
You won't find it in the current help guide because it's only available in the Beta version of the software.

So can you help this thicko by telling me how to pick up the full race description, please?

I'm not interested in the market depth thing, I was just using that as an example. It just made me wonder if there are more function calls than documented.
Thanks for reponding

Normally you would have used the function getEvents to find the market and therefore would have a bfEvent object which includes the eventName property.

For convenience though I have now added a new property to comClass named marketName. This will be available in version 1.1.0.66x84. You can download it using the link below. You will need to uninstall the current version first.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
