Clear Trigger

Postby Trading1 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:46 pm

Hi,

Just a quick question regarding the clear trigger (apologies if it is on here the forum somewhere already I cant seem to find it)

I wonder if you can tell me how long the entire process takes for a bet to be placed then the clear trigger to empty the reference cell and then the next bet will be fired in?

I am guessing that it is fairly quick but I can not seem to find the answer anywhere and I don't want to go and use it straight on BF as I could potentially get a big liability quickly.

Thank you in advance.

The triggers are processed as the last part of each refresh. If your refresh rate is 1 second then assuming all triggers are consecutive it would take 3 seconds (1 for each trigger).

The CLEAR trigger simply clears the bet ref cell. If you are comfortable using a bit of VBA then you can reduce it to 2 seconds by populating the trigger using VBA and clearing the bet ref cell at the same time.

Refresh 1: Trigger bet
Refresh 2: Clear bet ref and trigger bet

Cheers for that Russell. 3 seconds is perfect.

Just to confirm, the refresh rate is in the BA interface under the betting options? is that correct?

That is correct. You can also set the rate that will be automatically used each time a new market is opened in general preferences (select preferences from the options menu).

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
