Gruss site problems with Virgin ISP

Postby doris_day » Tue Oct 18, 2011 8:48 am

Although the site is now available, I had problems with access for the last two days. I also had problems accessing quite a few sites including that of my dedicated server host. I thought initially that it was something to do with my system but it transpired to be an issue with my ISP, Virgin Media.

If anyone who knows about these things can explain how an ISP can have problems with particular sites it would be appreciated. It was a real pain in the neck.

I had problems too. I don't know what the problem was though, only Virgin can answer this.

Just to add a little confusion...
I have had no problems at all with Virgin? (Nottingham).

Weird that there isn't consistency. I know Betfair quite often had issues with certain ISP's in the past. I just don't understand what's going on in the background.

I also had problems accessing various sites incl. not being able to login onto Betdaq... didn't realise it was a problem only with Virgin.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
