Laying in running

Postby stsm1 » Sat Oct 08, 2011 4:51 pm

Hi,

I have just started to lay in running and am using the grid interface. I thought that by clicking the current lay price that the price would be matched. However I found that most bets were unmatched. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be great.

Cheers

In horse racing there is 1 sec delay for inrunning betting from betfair
For tennis and football 5 sec delay

"In horse racing there is 1 sec delay for inrunning betting from betfair "

That should be predicated with 'For most people'

Thank you. I want to confirm what the functionality Override Odds does as I would like to ensure my bets are matched when they are placed.

Am I correct in thinking that with this option ticked the whatever values are set e.g. 1.01 for back and say 50 for lay then these odds will be used. However if say I put a back bet in and the highest current odds available were 5.00 then my bet would be matched at these odds. Is this correct.

Equally if I placed a lay bet into the market at the override odds of 50 but the odds of 10.00 were available it would match the bet at these odds. Is this correct?

Cheers

You are correct. Betfair always match you at the best available odds.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
