Some error problems

Postby mrprobit » Fri Oct 07, 2011 11:38 am

I've not used gruss for a while, however having recently returned to using it I am having a few issues I didnt have before.

Main ones are.

LAYR trigger, this isnt working for me anymore, all it does is submits a new bet without cancelling the old one.

The other issues is that when I'm submitting a load of bets at once, I keep encountering error reports.

e.g. I fire off 120 bets at once I'll get a error message usually "between 1 & 60 bets" and none of the bets will get submitted. I then break the bets down into batches of 10 and submit each batch so I can find the source of the problem, yet they all go through no problem.

another Issue I'm encountering is that when I send through my bets in batches of 10, is that sometimes when I'm betting less than £2, all of the bets get stuck at the 1.01 stage, yet other batches go through fine, e.g. go through the 1.01 stage, change the stake, cancel etc so I get my sub £2 lays up.

This seems to be effecting my bets in groups, I.e. they are all successfully laid for sub £2 or they all fallover at the 1.01 stage

Thanks

Please install the Beta version and let me know if you still have problems. If you have problems with the Beta version I will then investigate as this is going to replace the official release in the near future. The Beta version has improvements for handling multiple requests. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=6583 for download link.

Also your bets failing in groups when you are betting below minimum stakes could be an account funds issue and this is not a fault in BA. Due to the way below minimum bets are placed you will need more funds than you might think. For example if you want to place 10 x £0.10 back bets then you might think £1 will cover this. This is not the case. You actually need £21 (10 x £2.10)

Ah yes, that explains 1.01 problem!

I'm having a problem using the beta version, fairly sure it something I'm doing wrong but sometimes the trigger cells stop responding to my commands.

What do I need to have ensured I have done so that it will respond to a new trigger ?

found the source of my problem, when Im clearing the trigger I'm clearing the bet reference (which will also explain my LAYR problem in first post).

How do I clear the trigger but not the bet reference ?

It's only the bet ref column that you want to clear when triggering a new bet unless using BACKR/LAYR which requires the bet ref of the bet you want to replace to be present in the ref column. Clearing the trigger column (column Q) is not required as this usually contains a formula to decide which trigger should appear and you don't want this cleared.

Which triggers are you having this particular issue with. Is it the BACKR/LAYR triggers?

Hi gary, Ive got it all working now, my issues were that i kept clearing the bet ref and also had the setting to add the N to betref which would only allow me to update the bet once as that then changed the bet ref.

All working fine now, thanks for your help

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
