My active markets problem

Postby 2020vision » Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:38 pm

Hi Gary :)

I have a problem with viewing Coupon markets>My active markets?

When I do this to monitor all markets my refresh number (throttling) drops to 1?
And everything goes extremely slowly - refresh rate about 40000-70000ms?

However, if I load my active markets into the quickpick list and then open
them all in first tab things work normally.

Also if I open new page (close first) and view coupon markets again then BA
just freezes trying to access my active markets? Am using latest version and
spotted this just a few days ago but assumed it must only be me? Getting
a bit inconvenient now although I can work around - thought you should know.

Sorry to be a pain but do you have any ideas please?

Thanks, ttfn - Michael

I will investigate. Sorry it may take a few days because I have several other problems to investigate also.

I recently updated this option to include Australian markets. It might be that you are having trouble accessing the Australian server. I think Betfair have had some problems with the Australian server recently so it might have been the cause. It doesn't matter if you don't have any bets on Australian markets because it still accesses the server. Does the problem still exist?

Hi :)

Not sure what you mean about Australian server - I don't access, load or play the Aus markets at all?

However I have now looked into it some more and have found that BA
will freeze if I try to load My active markets more than once
Also after one time only when selecting another market the throttling
remains stuck on 1?

Having said that I have also found that Profile2 with throttling set at 8 drops to 1 Req.
And Profile2 with throttling set at 12 drops to 4 Req? If Profile2 is set to
throttling 8 that will then also drop to 1 but only after re-opening program
i.e. throttling becomes "stuck".

Am I the only one to be experiencing this btw? Could it be that it is because
I have so many active markets - this morning I have 44?

It definitely used to work ok some time ago? As stated it's all ok if I load
them into quickpick list first and then open? I am doing this now but it means
that I have to manually compile the quick pick list and then open in tab1.

I don't really mind but felt you should know.

Best regards and thanks - Michael

It does not matter if you don't have bets in Australian markets. When using this option it still needs to access the Australian server to establish if you do. On the surface this is the only difference I can see between compiling the list manually and using this option. I will look into it further.

Now that you mention the problem occurs after loading them more than once I have replicated the problem. It definitely is a problem and will affect anyone using this feature. They just haven't mentioned it. I will fix it asap.

Works OK now except that if I delete the FIRST market then ONLY the next
market is visible? The others appear to still be there because if I then
delete the next market then only the third one is visible?

However as long as I do not delete the first market then it all works fine.
i.e. others can be deleted without issue.

Hope this helps and once again I personally can live with it.

Ttfn - thanks - Michael

I'll look into it. It could be some other changes that I have made to fix another problem with the coupon where it couldn't display all the markets if they exceeded a certain volume, eg. Saturday football coupon.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
