excel interface

Postby chip » Mon Sep 05, 2011 1:55 pm

I have two questions regarding the excel interface.

1) Does the autoselect markets work it's way down the quickpick list? I had assumed it does, but then I thought I should check to be sure. I delete one or two markets from the quickpick list because I don't want my excel bot to fire in such markets.

2) I currently place bets very close to the start time of the event. But I want to experiment by placing bets at 30 mins prior to start also. How can I do both things at once? Horse races are normally 10 mins apart, so I can't get my head around how to participate in two markets at the same time?

Hello,

It works it's way down the list. You can either delete the unwanted markets manually or add some criteria to you triggers to omit certain races if there is info available to make that decision.

2) I currently place bets very close to the start time of the event. But I want to experiment by placing bets at 30 mins prior to start also. How can I do both things at once? Horse races are normally 10 mins apart, so I can't get my head around how to participate in two markets at the same time?

You can open multiple tabs and use Excel/Log multiple sheets quick link. Eg you could have 1 tab for each venue and fire bets in a 30min prior and 10 minutes prior, or you could have 2 tabs all loaded with all meetings and use 1 tab to fire the 30min prior triggers and the other to do 10min prior. This is confusing me now :(

Where do I set the instructions for market switching? I have opened up two tabs, and have a quicklist populated on each tab. I had assumed I would set the market switching instructions through the grid interface.

But, the "Log Multiple Quick Link" requires the market switching to be set up there.

I have looked at the reference material and can't find anything on logging multiple markets in excel.

It's an option in the quickpicklist but it doesn't have to be used, it can be left blank

Market switching can be set either by

1. Manually for each tab in Market/auto select markets
2. Automatically for each tab using Excel/Log multiple sheets quicklink
3. Using Excel conditions/triggers in cell Q2 of Excel

Thanks for your help - I am up and running now.

But as I watch the bot working I have another requirement. I make two passes to place bets. The first at 30 mins before the race starts and the second right near race time. What can sometimes happen is my 30 minute sweep misses a bet or two because the price is too short. Then at 1 minute to go the price has lengthened sufficiently for me to place a bet.

So here is my next requirement; How does the bot know how much to place at a minute to go? If my 30 minute pass has placed a bet on the selection then at 1 minute to go I want to take no further action. But if my 30 min pass has missed the bet, but at 1 min the horse is a selection I want the bot to place the bet for the full amount.

Columns V,W & X will contain the avg matched odds, matched stake and potential profit/loss.

If cycling markets these will always be visible but the bet references will be missing. If you need to retrieve more data than this then select 'Log Bet Results' and send the specific bets to a results sheet to log and lookup when you return to the market.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
