COM Server - Waiting for Market to Open

Postby negapo » Wed Aug 31, 2011 7:45 pm

Hi to all.

I'm using the COM server to apply some strategies in which i loop through some markets. My problem is that the ba_pricesUpdated() event isn't fire so i have no way to know if the market is already open (im working in Access).
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Also im struggling to understand how do i update or cancel a single bet.
Thanks for any help

pricesUpdated fires in Access ok here. Make sure you have the Beta version which handles event firing better than previous versions. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6477 for download link. Make sure you uninstall the previous version first.

Here is an example Access database with a simple form which demonstrates opening a market, placing a bet, updating and cancelling. Open the TestBets form then click the open market button. When the market has opened the market id appears. Click the place bet button and it will place a lay bet at odds 1.01, stake £2. Click the update bet button and it will update the odds to 1.02. Click the cancel bet button to cancel it.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
