Lays on MyBets not showing

Postby Tarmac » Wed Aug 17, 2011 3:42 pm

I am backing in running. I dont want toback the drifter so I put in a lay bet of €5 at 1.01, and the program is supposed to read the fact that there is a lay bet in "MyBets" and therefore not back it.

I see the spreadsheet is laying at correct odds/stake when I expect it to lay but it appears the lay bet is not reaching BF (the Back bets are and are logged on MyBets).

Any idea why the lay isn't hitting BF?

Sorry without seeing the workings of your spreadsheet I don't know. There isn't an issue with the program preventing lay bets being triggered. When is the lay bet triggered? Is it before the race? If it is before the race are you using LAY-IP so that it is kept in play and not cancelled at the off? If it is being placed in play are you looking at MyBets after the race? If the horse didn't win then your lay bet won't have got matched and will have been cancelled and therefore not appear in MyBets.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
