I have just sent Betfair an email requesting that they refund my back bet which was placed literally at the same time as the outage, as I did not have any chance to place the lay bet.

It's also happened once before but I let that one slide.

I phoned them once after losing about £300 because of one of their breakdowns. They refunded half of my loss. I did conveniently forget to tell them that I had hedged on betdaq so it didn't work out too bad. The second time it happenned they refused any refund at all, they still took the full amount of premium charge from me that week, gits!

Email back from Betfair basically saying that they will not be refunding my bet. It's things like this that will make users seek alternatives!

Having problems fetching the Aus markets on opening Gruss this morning. Can be disabled by Options > Preferences > Quickpick list > Include Australian markets [untick].

Just if anyone else is experiencing this assume it is the Aus server.

It's working here so it must be at your end, possibly your ISP. Try rebooting your PC and router.

Strange - I didn't investigate further as I do not use Aus markets, they were simply being the sticking point before I could load any UK markets [got to around attempt 10 of 'fetching Aus markets' before I disabled them.

May have been my end was just posting incase anyone else was being stopped by the Aus Markets this morning.

Why would the order of the runners change to the fluctuating betting order during a race?

Did you inadvertently change the sort order above the prices grid? If you change it to back odds for example then it will change the order as the prices change. It wouldn't just change the order by itself unless you changed the sort order.

No, I don't even have the betting options open they are always closed. I didn't even know that was an option.

This first happened on the 8:25 Lingfield Saturday, I did put a thread up about it asking if anyone had noticed anything about the race.

I only logged in late on today and tt happened on 4 races Ros 17:10, Bath 17:15, FFos Las 17:30, Ros 17:40

I had two windows open one in the win market and one in the place. The win market swapped order but the place didn't.

I've since closed both windows and since reopening it hasn't happened again.

If it does happen again I will open up the betting options and check the order is still 'not sorted'. If it isn't I would have no idea why because like I said earlier I have never have them visible.

Damn.

Just shut the betting options back down and realised the sort option is always there anyway. Maybe I did catch it then somehow but I have never knowingly used it. It did seem strange that I'm the only one reporting this problem.

Sorry to waste your time if it was just me.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
