Hi
I hope you can help me and can find out what I mean as English is not my first language.

My question:

I would like the software to do the following is that possible.

I have a match soccer tennis or whatever. I would like to place a bet at a certain odd and then leave. This will of course be inrunning games only. I Lets say odds on a team at the start of match is 1,70 then I would like to bet at this team when the odds goes to lets say 1,30 and then the software should make the bet when that happens is that possible and if so how.`?

Thanks.

You can set up a conditional bet. You can read about this feature in the user guide which you can select from the help menu.

Here is a video demonstrating adding a conditional bet column to the grid interface.

Here is a video demonstrating using the conditional bet column. In this example a back bet is placed if the last price matched is less than 2.0. The bet is placed at the last price matched minus 10 ticks.

Thanks I will look in to it
What does the "ticks" mean.

When I have set this up as you shows can I then shut my computer down or should the software be open. It will only make the bet if this will happen right? If the odds stay above 2 nothing will happen?

I have another question
My money is not the default £. Can I set it to my own that is Danish Krones.

Hi,

Ticks means valid Betfair price increments e.g. if the odds are 2.0 and you take off 10 ticks then the odds are 1.90

When you have set a Conditional Bet you must keep your computer on and the software running. You must keep the market open otherwise the Conditional Bet will be cancelled. If the conditions you have set never get met then nothing will happen.

Betting Assistant works fine in local currencies.

Regards,
Mark

Hi
thanks for the nice answers.
Just so I have understood right.

I put in my stake and then I put in lets say 2,00 and ticks 10. Then the bot will make a bet when the odds is between 1,90 and 2??

Not exactly. In the example if the odds went down to 1.99 then it would place the bet requesting odds 1.89. It wouldn't trigger at 2.0 because it has to be lower than 2.0 in the example. The reason for requesting lower odds in the example is to have a better chance of being matched.

See the example video. Enter 1.9 instead of 2.0 and leave the tick offset box at 0. If the last matched price is 1.9 or below then it will place the bet at those odds. If it goes straight past 1.9 to 1.8 for example it will place it at 1.8.

Hi there again.

I have now been trying the last days. But what ever I do the software place the bet at actual price. Could you tell me specific what to do or show me in a video or something how i back a bet for 1,05 when game is live.

Thanks.

Sorry you cannot actually place it at 1.05 specifically. You can only trigger when it is less than the specified odds and then it will place at the current odds, not specifically at 1.05. You cannot do this with the conditional betting feature.

You will need to use the Excel triggered betting facility instead. Also you need to be aware of Betfair's "best execution". If you request 1.05 and by the time Betfair match it better odds are available then it will be matched at those better odds. There is also the chance that you will not get matched at all if the odds go down further.

Also you need to give a lot more information about what you are trying to do. I cannot tell exactly from what you are asking what you want to do.

When exactly do you want this bet placed? There are three possibilities based on price.
1) When the best lay price is 1,05 or less.
2) When the best back price is 1,05 or less.
3) When the last matched price is 1,05 or less.
Which of the above three criteria do you want to use?

I will try to make it clear.
I would like to place a bet at any moment and if at all one of the teams reach the odds for winning at 1,05 eg. Lets say at the beginning of a match the odds for the favorite is 1,50. Then I will leave my computer and when they score and odds drops to 1,05 then Gruss will make my bet.

Is that clear?

Sorry it isn't. You need to define "odds drops to 1,05". To trigger the bet the program has to check one of 3 prices: back odds, lay odds, last price matched. Which one do you want it to check?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
