Stop Loss Trigger

Postby Yorkie » Sun May 29, 2011 3:52 pm

Hi all

I'm currently using the excel trigger LAY-SLF2-L. This places the stop loss bet at 1 tick below the trigger point. The football market that it's been used on doesn't always have close prices and also has the in play delay so more often than not the stop loss bet ends up getting cancelled as it never matched. I've tried adding SLC1 to it but this doesn't seem to help. What i really need is a way to make the SLF2-L trigger place the stop loss bet at more than 1 tick below the trigger point. Is this possible?

Cheers

I'm afraid not. Are you saying SLC1 doesn't work as it's meant to or that it's not suitable in this instance?

I'm not sure really. At the moment this system is new so is using below minimum stake so it could be that causing the problem.

I have noticed sometimes that both the original lay and the stop loss back are showing as filled in the bets manager yet when the market is settled the stop loss back bet comes back as cancelled. I've just had that happen where BA was showing red all round yet when the match was settled the back bet has been cancelled. I assume this part is nothing to do with BA but maybe with the bet size?

Strange. Check Betting History on the website to confirm if voided.

You can also send the file named BA_Diagnostic.txt to admin@gruss-software.co.uk
It's in the folder named c:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs

Think i may have found something.

All the cancelled bets showing on the results sheet are the original stop loss back bet at 1.99. Subsequent bets placed by the chaser are not being reported in the results sheet. Looking at the history on betfair the chaser bets are being placed and filled and settled but not filled in on the results sheet. Seems like BA is only monitoring the first stop loss bet and not the chaser ones.

Without even looking at the code I can tell you're right. It doesn't add the chase bets to the results sheet. I will fix that.

Gary
i don't know if this is difficult but could you consider if not to place at the result sheet the bet response time also?

I've back checked on the betfair site and the chaser stop loss has been working fine so no problems with that part :-)

In version 1.1.0.66x64 the chase bet refs will be included in the results worksheet. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=6193

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
