So you placed all bets before you went to bed?

The program needs to be monitoring the market in order for it to know what the SP is so it can then place any offfsets. It won't remember settings if you've moved to another market of closed the program.

How are you actually placing the bets? Auto selecting the market and placing it a minute before the off etc

There's been a few late markets today it's possible if you just used auto selct it moved onto the next race before the actual off time, what races were they/

All those went off to time so nothing obviious as to why it failed, Gary should be able to sort it out with the log files.

I'd just play with minimum stakes til he does though.

I'm afraid it looks like there was a connection issue after placing the bets. It never got the bet refs back from Betfair, just time out errors. Usually it attempts to get the bet refs by retrieving all bets afterwards and this usually works, but it made one attempt at this according to the log. I can only assume this attempt go completely stuck. I will review the code that does this. I'm afraid not all network failures can be recovered from and we cannot be held accountable for that, although it looks it should have in this case, but didn't.

I'm reviewing the code now and it appears the logging of bets after a timeout is only half working. It logs the bets in the sheet, but does not monitor tick offset/stop loss afterwards. I can only apologise as this should be working and would almost certainly have prevented your problem if it was because the log does confirm it logged them. I am fixing it now.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
