Sorry, it's not possible in the current version. SP bets by there nature are placed pre race so I didn't foresee a need for instant placement.

Wonderful product. Wish I had discovered it years ago.

I still have a question on this topic though. I am able to place BFSP bets by using the following in the Place_Bets Selections section.

Horse Name........Stake. Bet Type Min Odds Max Odds
2. Vagues Image xxx... BACK-SP. 999 1000

What I really want to do though is preplace the same bet into the BFSP Market but with a minimum price.

Do you really need automation to do that? If you are going to place BFSP bets you can place them manually and set the limit the same as you would on the website. You can then close BA after placing the bet and it will still be placed at SP if the limit is met.

Here is a video demonstrating placing a BFSP bet with minimum odds specified.

Yes there are a lot bets to do however I managed to find away around it using :-

9. Slow The Flow 30 LAY-SP 1.1 2

Now that has worked great for a couple of days but today there are a lot of bets in the "Selections" - some 88 in total being 35 win bets and 53 Lay Bets. I am finding that the Lay Bets are not triggering so is there a limit to the number of selections in the Selections part of the spread sheet ?

Possible causes that come to mind are :=

The API problem earlier today.
Running Excel 2003 rather than 2007.

It is not a spelling of horse name issue. The only case of that was Orielly cf OReilly

Thanks.

I may have solved the problem. By deleting a BACK-SP bet from the list, removing its row and then putting it at the end of the list the Trigger Mechanism now seems to read the entire list properly.

Alas I am still getting mixed results as the Excel Trigger does not seem to check the entire list. Sometimes it picks up more than one selection, sometimes not. Sometimes even though valid selections it doesn't get them at all.

So I have a few questions.

1. When the time for trigger comes up does the Excel Spreadsheet scan the entire selections list ? and what would happen if there was a blank line [not that I am putting in blank lines].

2. Does it need the bets in a particular order ? Say all bets for a race grouped together or all Lay Bets followed by all Back bets ?

3. Is there a limit to the number of bets it can handle in the list ?

4. Is it possible that the computer that I am running is simply too fast which is causing the problem? I have issues with HotKey at times where I have to insert delays into macros as the computer doesn't dwell for long enough for the click to register - running an i7 @ 4.05 GHz.

Thanks

The spreadsheet is only supplied as a sample so I encourage you to study the formulas in it to understand how it works.

1. When the time for trigger comes up does the Excel Spreadsheet scan the entire selections list ? and what would happen if there was a blank line [not that I am putting in blank lines].

Yes, column Z on the Market sheet uses the following lookup function to scan rows 2 to 50. Blank lines do not prevent VLOOKUP from working.
Code: Select all
=VLOOKUP($A5,Selections!$A$2:$E$50,1,FALSE)

2. Does it need the bets in a particular order ? Say all bets for a race grouped together or all Lay Bets followed by all Back bets ?

No.

3. Is there a limit to the number of bets it can handle in the list ?

Yes. As you can see in the vlookup function above it only checks up to row 50 in the Selections sheet. To increase this just change every formula in column Z on the Market sheet. For example change it to read as follows to check up to row 100.
Code: Select all
=VLOOKUP($A5,Selections!$A$2:$E$100,1,FALSE)

4. Is it possible that the computer that I am running is simply too fast which is causing the problem? I have issues with HotKey at times where I have to insert delays into macros as the computer doesn't dwell for long enough for the click to register - running an i7 @ 4.05 GHz.

The speed of your PC cannot be the problem. Are you sure the horse names are matching the names in the Market sheet? They must be exactly the same. For example US and AUS races include the race card number in the name. For example "5. Regent Sands". If the Selections sheet just included "Regent Sands" it would not be found.

Thanks for that.

The problem seems to be in the number of rows that it is scanning. Very difficult to spot if not aware of the limitation and yesterday I had something like 88 rows of selections and today 72 but not in time order so spotting that which is so obvious was not easy.

Thanks

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
