Horse Racing Markets

Postby mtysocks » Mon Dec 13, 2010 7:36 am

Hi

I normally use a spreadsheet with Gruss. This is switched on early morning before work at about 4am and left to run. If I am using the Quickpick List to show only the UK Horse Racing Win Markets, would it be possible to update the quick list automatically if a meeting is abandoned? I am finding that my spreadsheet seems to "stall" if this happens.

Any thoughts welcome.

It shouldn't be stalling. I am currently investigating this. It is supposed to carry on and just ignore abandoned meetings. I have tried to replicate this problem but have not been able to. I am currently waiting for the next abandoned meeting to find the cause.

Can you confirm which of the following auto select options you use?

Wait until scheduled off of preceding race
Wait until actual off of preceding race
At specific time before off

Hi. Thank you for looking into it. I will let u know the option i have later after work. If it helps the spreadsheet itself has an option where 30 secs before the off it moves onto the next market. This more or less works like it should. It only seems to get stuck when there is an abandoned meeting later.

Hi. Just a little bit more info for you if it helps:

* My spreadsheet is set to start betting about 10mins before the off, and closes trading 30 secs before the off.
* I have checked Market>Auto Select Markets and there are no ticks on any of the 3 options.
* I am using Ver. 1.1.0.66x37

I hope this helps.

One of the options must be ticked otherwise that option is not active. Is your spreadsheet using the -1 trigger in cell Q2 to move to the next market instead?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
