Racing Post Jockey Names -v- Betfair Jockey Names

Postby JIFFIJAW » Mon Sep 20, 2010 12:54 pm

I use Racing Post Jockey statistics in my BA based bettingbot but find that the Betfair and Racing Post Jockey names don't always coincide -- and for instance Betfair jockey names given by BA put "." after initials. I am building a converter that recognises and converts Betfair Jockey names to RP Jockey names before looking up the statistics -- but it is a slow business as I check each day for non-matches and then "teach" my bot the right conversion name.

For instance:
Pat Smullen P J Smullen
Johnny Murtagh J Murtagh
Donal Fahy D P Fahy
Davy Russell D N Russell
B J Cooper Bryan J Cooper
Sean Flanagan S W Flanagan
Paul Carberry P Carberry
Michael Darcy M Darcy
Niall Madden N P Madden
Robbie Power R M Power
Roger Loughran R Loughran
Alain Cawley A P Cawley
Philip Enright P T Enright
Emmet McNamara E J McNamara
S Foley Shane Foley
Mr R J McCarth R J McCarth
Mr P J Carberry P J Carberry
Brian O'Connell B T O'Connell
Mr Paul J McMahon Mr P J McMahon
William Supple W J Supple
Keagan Latham K Latham
Mr D O'Connor Mr Derek O'Connor
C P Lemaire Christophe-Patrice Lemaire
Mr Alan Berry Mr A J Berry
Keith Donoghue K M Donoghue
Paul Townend P Townend
Connor Hoban C P Hoban
Davy Condon D J Condon
Miss P Ryan Miss Pauline Ryan
Colm O'Donoghue C O'Donoghue
Mr F Guy Mr Florent Guy
Mr Paul Power Mr P Power
Joseph O'Brien J P O'Brien
Mr J P Boisgontier Mr Jean-Philippe Boisgontier
L Jones Liam Jones
G J Galligan Gerard Galligan
Miss L Gardner Miss Lucy Gardner
T P Queally Tom Queally
Conor O'Farrell C O'Farrell
Steven Clements S Clements
Denis Hogan D G Hogan
John Reid J T Reid
T P O'Shea Tadhg O'Shea
H Matoba Hayato Matoba
Mr J J Gerrard J J Gerrard
T Scudamore Tom Scudamore
Paddy Flood P W Flood
chris hayes c d hayes
M Demuro Mirco Demuro
B Browne Barry Browne
F Sweeney Fergus Sweeney

Does anyone have a definitive list of the jockey names used by Betfair -v- Racing Post???

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
