level profit column in excel

Postby spliffcity » Thu May 13, 2010 6:29 pm

Afternoon all,

This is probably aimed at Gary, but maybe anyone that's better at maths than me.

how hard would it be to put the level profit column into excel?

the idea being that, once the profit hits a certain trigger, i can fire in the bets required using triggers auto magically?

Massive job?

cheers
Mark.

Gary developed this recently, perhaps it may help you?

cheers for the reply.

I've used these already ajnd modified them to some extent.. but they are not really what I'm looking for.

I could probably code the stuff myself in vba i think, BUT..

I don't know where to start with the whole green up calcluation across multiple bets and the required stake on each bet.

so in effect I need the level profity column and the ability to fire the c"close positions" button in excel!

i've a feeling i might be asking for too much though?

I would like to see the level profit workable through Excel for global and individual selections. I tried the link provided to Gary's workings in the earlier post but the level profit column just shows the same numbers as the profit column.

I don't think you ticked "Log current bets" when you set up the Excel link. It needs to log your bets to the MyBets worksheet to do the calculations otherwise you will end up with the same values in the level profit column as the profit column.

No links working

Postby 2020vision » Tue Jun 29, 2010 7:45 pm

From what I can see no internal links are working? :?

Clicking any brings up "No input file specified" for me?

Bet Gary will sort it soon enough, Michael

It's because the links were referring to /phpBB2/ folder. I have updated all posts (604 in total!) to refer to /forum/ instead. Open the post again and the link should be pointing to /forum/ and should work.

Cheers Gary :)

sorted quickly as predicted. Just have to amend any shortcuts I have from
"phpBB2" to "forum" now - makes sense, probably a good idea to change it?

Many thanks Gary and Michael - was worried that perhaps we were losing the archive in the forum upgrade.

Cheers,

Hi,

I am hoping you can clear something up for me. I have been using excel to place bets and then using the auto level profit function manaully and I now want to try to use the speadsheet in this topic but I'm not sure how it works. What trigger should I use to enable the auto level profit in excel? i've had a go but at the moment I'm getting figures flashing in the offset bet columns.

Sorry if I've missed something obvious.

Tony

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
