Do you think any of the scenarios I mentioned with regard to when my code clears the bet ref etc could be the cause?

It cannot possibly affect it. I still cannot see beyond it being the problem that I fixed at the moment, but I've been proved wrong before

Postby dgs2001 » Sat Jun 26, 2010 1:08 pm

Gary apologies if this is covered, I hav'nt read the 4 previous pages

now running .66x2 I seem to have an extra column to the left of the projected SP after the 2nd back price. it has no heading, nor any selectable area.

It's a spacer column that normally should appear between the best back and best lay prices to produce a gap. If there is already a column in between the best back and lay columns then it doesn't need to be displayed. I will be releasing a fix tomorrow.

Hi Gary, I've emailed you the diagnostic file and the transaction log for for race where I had an example of the offset bet not reaching the market.

I notice on the log when a bet's odds are updated the log entry has OK_REMAINING_CANCELLED suffixed. Does that mean that an updated bet is first created at the new odds and then cancelled at the old? Could that mean that in that instant I need enough funds to allow for both of the lays?

I keep excess funds in my Australian wallet when I'm testing stuff in case I make a cock-up. If one bet was being updated at the same instant the offset bet is fired then maybe that's why it doesn't appear?

Not by Betting Assistant, it happens at Betfair’s end.

I don't think so as a tick offset bet will always be reducing your exposure.

I have replied to your email with a question about the diagnostic log. Did you receive it?

I've replied to your latest email regarding cancelled bets and resent the earlier email. Can you confirm that you have received them?

There isn't currently a trigger to stop logging a sheet after the market has closed. A closed market does not make API requests though and you can set the refresh rate in cell Q2 to 999 which means it will only update Excel every 16 minutes.

Gary goodmorning
currently i am using the previous version 66.w
Can you confirm that when the market is closed my bot stop making requests?Sometimes in a market where there is no activity for a week or so and the quick pick list remains empty (i have it automated refresh the quick pick list each day) it still shows the latest refresh rate (0.5) & i have to manual set it higher. Is it ok if i leave it at (0.5)? I am asking because i will for vacation at the end of the month & i won't have access to internet for 3 weeks...

Garry,

Regarding the functionality below:

7) When displaying the same market on separate tab pages it will now use the same price and bet refresh requests from the first tab displaying the market instead of making new requests. This reduces bandwidth and is useful for Excel users who want to run separate triggers on the same market from separate tabs. It only works if each tab has the same refresh rate.

Will this work if you use the same workbook but use different instances (BF accounts) of BA on different tabs but the same market? Or do they all need to be the same instance of BA? Hope this makes sense!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
