workaround

moved the calcLookupTables to a different sheet. Numbered stuff and used a sumif() formula to calc info and resubmitted to OddsCap sheet. seems its only the lookup tables that refuse to work. have tested elsewhere and seems to only happen when linked?

Is your lookup based on the selection name? Are you taking into account the fact that the horse name in AUS horse racing markets includes the race card number? eg. "1. Jet Flash". If the lookup function is trying to find "Jet Flash" it will not work.

yes, i do have it call anaylsis based on selection name Gary, but using mid() and trim() in a formula (also removing apostrophes from my names) brings the selection-name back to the GBstyle and as mentioned it worked well with 65o but had the dummy spit yesterday when the only diff seemed to be an upgrade to 65p. just guessing about something i really don't know about but maybe the code for the oddscap page is in some way negating my original lookups as that was the only calc (of many) effected. my lkup_tables started directly below the oddscap info at line80 and went for a 1000 or so lines going across to colLZ. am using 2007.xlsm sheet.

running some av stuff but the same tables and BFcap were copied and pasted elsewhere withoput the BA_hookup and didn't have a prob in doing what they are supposed to ... but still, at times, i am sunday morning and vba challenged so maybe missing something.

anyway should have numerated the whole process in the first place, just lazy :), as it seems to have removed the prob as mentioned prev.

also noticed that on few late saturday afternoons AUtime that the BA updating the xls sheet stops and starts like last saturday between (3.45-4.20pm AU) which is a PITA as it is usually when the AUmarkets are most active. figured it maybe UKbetfair uploading stuff? but it couldn't happen at a worst time. as the xlsm sheet just stopped ... thx for the 'cancel all bets' button as it saved the situation :) but was a halfhour before it was consistent again. did close, reboot etc and checked with my isp and they were cool.

anyway, above minor stuff aside, BA is really nice work, thx.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
