BA error message every 5 minutes

Postby ians1711 » Tue Jun 08, 2010 3:46 pm

I get the following error message every 5 minutes in BA_Diagnostic.txt:

Error loading silks: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at Betting_Assistant.RefreshSilks.getSilkImages()

Any ideas??

It refreshes the silks every 5 minutes and must be encountering a problem on each refresh. Are you displaying the jockey's silks and do they appear?

What version are you using?

Ignore my question about the version. I can see that you told me this on another thread.

Difficult to know which tab the error message is referring to. I have normal races on one tab and AvB races on the other tab. The silks are displayed on the tab with the normal race markets but not on the AvB markets.

It's the AvB market. Betfair do not make the silks available for this market although it's still obviously a horse racing market. The error is harmless, nothing else is affected. I will suppress it in a the next Beta release.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
