After a month without complains today i can't load any market at all.
Is it me, BA, or their Api?

It's OK here. It was probably the API. Do you still have the same problem?

When I get chance I will add some logging code so I can see the API responses.

I've not used the betdaq version for a couple of months but today i've gone back to it and got a problem.

If i login to the betdaq website i can place bets in the normal way, if i try to place a bet thru BA i get an error sayin "PunterIsBlacklisted" and my balance shows as £0.00

Has anyone else had this or can Gary shed any light on it

Thanks

"PunterIsBlackListed" is not as bad as it sounds. It is Betdaq's way of throttling requests. Are you using any other Betdaq API application at the same time?

yes BA is running on 2 computers at the moment. 1 is set up to run a system in auto mode, the other was just one i was playing around with.

Are we saying that the betdaq version can only be used on 1 pc at a time?

That would explain it. Yes, unfortunately the API throttles the requests at Betdaq's end and it is based on the number of requests from your user id. I will be looking to see if there is any solution to this in the future.

I think you will be OK if you can use another account on the 2nd computer, but I haven't tested this myself.

Ok I've closed 1 and the balance etc has come back fine on the other.

Both were set to 0.2 refresh rate. would increasing this allow 2 instances to run at the same time or is this irrelevant?

PunterIsBlacklisted is probs not the best message to send from the api.lol

I'm afraid I've set the bets refresh at 0.5 seconds which is the maximum allowed and have not made it configurable so that will cause problems. I will be doing some more work on the Betdaq version this week so please leave it with me.

"PunterIsBlackListed" does sound a little extreme! You are actually blacklisted for about 30 seconds when you exceed the requests.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
