User Guide in Word format

Postby johnnic » Fri Apr 02, 2010 11:48 am

I have recently installed Windows 7 (64 bit) and haven't yet worked out a way to successfully get Adobe Reader to open some documents, including the Betting Assitant User Guide.

Does anyone know if it is available in Word format?

Thanks

John

It's not unfortunately. We are working on a new html version. It's actually a flash file, not a PDF document.

Thanks Gary.

Have others faced the problem of not being able to download the need Flash Player while using Windows 7 (64 bit)?

Yes they have the same problem. It's because there isn't a 64 bit version of the flash player. If you install a 32 bit browser, eg. 32 bit version of Firefox you may be able to view the file. I haven't tested this solution.

Hi,

You can drfinitely view the User Guide on 64 bit Windows 7 if using the 32 bit Internet Explorer.

Mark

Thanks for the help that has been offered, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I'm still without the benefit of the User Guide.

Mak. using the link you suggested still gives me the message:

"Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash"

I've installed Firefox but still no success.

I've tried to get hold of IE8 (32 bit) but it seems impossible to download that for Windows 7.

I'm very open to any and all other suggestions.

Thanks all.

Yeah, thanks Mak, I've done that (about four times :? ) but still no success. I have removed IE8, replaced it with Firefox (which only runs in 32 bit mode), installed Flash Player 10 but still no success.

Sigh

Hi All
I have been driven mad trying to fix this. I am running Windows 7 professional with IE8 and Betting assistant version 1.1.0.65h Everything defaults to the 32bit version of IE8 and runs flash fine except for Betting Assistant. In Betting Assistant when I click the help file BA it seems somehow to selects the 64 bit version of IE8. I have followed all the advice on the Internet, including installing Firefox and setting it to be the default browser, to no avail. As far as I can see the only possible solution left would be to go back to an initial break point and start off again. As this would involve a huge amount of configuring and reinstalling I don't think I will, but it is bugging the hell out of me.

Can you not just view the help file using the following link in IE8 until we release the html version?

We cannot change Betting Assistant to fix this, but it will no longer be a problem once the user guide is in html.

Thanks Gary
Its not a real real problem, just an annoyance. Can't see why Microsoft did not give an option to disable the 64 bit version, especially as it runs f**k all and just gets in the way. best regards Paul BTW Thanks for a great product :D

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
