Trigger betting

Postby philuk » Mon Mar 22, 2010 9:59 pm

Hi there

Currently I have a formula for the trigger betting that will initiate a Lay bet under certain circumstances :

=IF(AND($D$2<=TIME(0,0,5),H37="LAY",$H$45=1),"LAY","")

Now I have incorporated a back bet into it , but have no idea how to insert it in there :

=IF(AND($D$2<=TIME(0,0,5),J47="BACK"),"BACK","")

All I would like it to do is if the lay bet is triggered Lay the selection or not , or if the Back bet is triggered Back it or not.

Or if none of them are triggered just leave the race alone.

Thanx

Philip :)

This is how I'd do it but I may be wrong:
=IF(AND($D$2<=TIME(0,0,5),H37="LAY",$H$45=1),"LAY",IF(AND($D$2<=TIME(0,0,5),J47="BACK"),"BACK",""))

Did not work , gave me a cancelled on backing bets. Although it did the lay bets....

Although maybe another alternative :

Will it be able to open the same race in a second tab and then log those races on a different excel workbook ?

then I will be sitting with two books open ex : laybook1 and backbook1 and in BA i will have the same market open in two tabs.

:)

Yes, I think it would be a work around. Have the same market open on 2 tabs and 2 worksheets, one for Backs and one for Lays.
Also the Cancelled you got may only be because the price it was trying to Back at wasn't available. I take it you have a routine for altering the relevant odds you're asking for depending on whether you're backing or laying ?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
