Did you sort the Firefox issue? Was it a Firefox “add on” causing the problem?

My Skype used to just stop working whenever I opened Firefox and I traced that back to an add on.

Gary goodmorning
today all my workbooks updated fine...I don't know if it is a firefox addon, the day before yesterday as i recall i had left a firefox window open.

What do you think?

I don't think that could be the cause. If it happens again and I can use remote assistance I will have a much better idea.

Sorry, no problem mak, got your pm.

Firstly my apologies, It was ie7 I had the problem with but I would imagine the principal of an add on potentially causing a problem could be the same.

I cannot remember the name of the add on, but its purpose was to highlight/enable Skype contact in web pages. The problem was it actually caused my Skype, if I had it open, to stop working.

I am not suggesting the Firefox/BA issue you experienced was an add on problem, but as no one else as far as I’m aware has ever had a problem with BA/Firefox, it must have been something unique about your Firefox,”like” an add on that may have downloaded to your Firefox while you were downloading/restoring all your programs following the OS reinstall.

If it does happen again I personally would just temporarily disable all add on’s, if only for peace of mind that isn’t/wasn’t the problem.

Send an email to gruss@blueyonder.co.uk if you want me to try remote assistance now. Remote assistance will only be useful if you have not closed Betting Assistant and Excel since.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
