Gary- Just out of curiosity..... what's your problem with (he which should not be named?).

I have a bit of a problem with the unmentionable becuase they pretend that they're into something other than gambling- is it that? Or is it personal?

It's not personal, I've never met them. I don't like the way it is marketed. It's like "use this software and you will make money". I don't want to say any more as it's not good form to slag off the competition.

I worked for IBM, and that's what we were told. It only applies when you are the best, and you are!

Works great

Hi Gary :)

just a quick update to say that this feature of laying to liability
with the odds/percentages changing the stake automatically
is great thank you. Also seeing percentages for selections is good too.

May I inquire if you have plans or would also be able to find time to make
it a similar way of functioning regarding backing as well as laying?
I realise you are probably very busy but wondered if I could possibly
allow myself to look forward to it?

Thanks, all the best - Michael :)

Backing Facility (bookmaker function)

Postby 2020vision » Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:22 am

    *THANK YOU GARY*

Have just been trying out the "bookmaker" facility type thing now available
in the latest release (v66p). Am VERY impressed - it's just what I was after!

For anyone not sure how this works or where it is here is a quick guide...

Can be found in Mybets window on grid interface. The new part is regarding
backing. You now have options to set an overall stake which is spread across
all selections evenly OR to set a profit target per runner or field, the latter
basically (as far as I see it) amounts to a user-definable dutching facility.

Simply choose runners & odds - click "Stake" link - enter TOTAL stake - tick
checkbox - changing odds to what you want everything automatically changes.

OR

Choose runners & odds - click "Target" link - enter your required profit - EITHER
Per selection or Total (user-dutching) - tick checkbox - changing odds to what
you want and everything changes too.

Stakes or target entered will also be remembered simply by hitting the
square checkbox on your next event. Also individual runners and overall
percentages can be seen too. If by any chance you even try to "dutch"
over 100% the whole thing will blank out and prevent you from doing so!

Hope this all makes sense and is useful to you?

All the best - Michael

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
