Auto close market with conditional bets

Postby 2020vision » Tue Jun 23, 2009 7:27 pm

Hi All :)

I am wondering is it possible to automatically close a ladder market which
has some conditional bets in place a certain time BEFORE the off?
Simple I hope as I am not very experienced with Excel or VBA yet?

E.G. Six ladder markets, all with conditional bets, close them in time order
automatically say 5 minutes before event starts regardless of position.

This would in effect void such unmatched bets I take it?

Thanks in advance - Michael :)

2020

I don't use the ladder myself, but I'm pretty certain this would not void unmatched bets.

Unmatched bets are not held by BA they are held by Betfair. So shutting BA should have no effect on bets already placed with Betfair.

If however you mean conditional bets which have not yet been placed with Betfair then yes I'm pretty sure shutting BA will stop these bets.

Hope that helps

If you are wanting to cancel unmatched bets that have already been placed 5 minutes before the off then that is beyond the scope of the conditional bets feature, you will need to program Excel to fire a CANCEL trigger.

Hi :)

my aim was to be able to cancel unmatched and untriggered conditional bets
automatically in my absence about 5 minutes before the event starts.
Closing market I thought was the easiest way but any other method or
example of how to do this (if it's possible) would be welcome.

If it's just not possible that's not the end of the world, just would
have been handy. Great software regardless.

Thanks anyway, ttfn, Michael :)

Hi again :)

just a quick one to say this is covered the best way I know how,
simple little macro recorder to just right click and close markets
on a schedule - easy, eh?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
