the probelm only occurs using the LAYFIELD trigger if i use the same formula with LAY as the trigger and then put that in all the trigger colums for the race it quite happily submits all the bets ie lays the whole field for 1.01 at 100 even with a refresh rate of 0.5

The problem only seems to happen usinf LAYFIELD and it appears to try and back using the odds if the back odss filed and stake on the main trader display (top left)

Next market CSKA Moscow v Unicaja 5:15 as far as I can see

My Odds calulation (Col O) is :-

Basically I back a horse and then I am looking to lay a horse at .8 less than my back matched bet !

Hope that helps!

Layit, I know of one person who, while experimenting - with Excel I believe - has had his bank wiped out. I wonder whether it is possible for you to allow the program to use Betfair Play For Fun, www.playbetfair.com, which would make it possible to develop spreadsheets without risking real money. I don't know whether the pages are to the standard format or not, but it would be worth a look, I think.

I may have answered my own question here....I think if I change the Back!Q5<>"" to Back!S5 > 0 that may solve it....i.e don't put the LAY order in until the bet is matched!!!

sorry Guys if I wasted any of your time!

Somebody back me up please. I am getting complaints that the program is too slow to place bets in running. I am trying to explain that there is a deliberate delay imposed by Betfair. Is anybody experiencing delays beyond the norm?

IanP. LAYFIELD uses the odds next to the trigger, it doesn't matter which selection you put it against, but only put it once or it'll trigger multiple times.

Layit - I think the official delay is one second.

I've been experimenting with your program, and haven't experienced any extraordinary delays that I can't explain. I've been triggering from Excel, and the delay between the LAY cell being triggered and execution appears to correlate to the refresh rate I've set in your main prgram.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
