Refresh rate

Postby Ferru123 » Thu Jul 20, 2017 9:08 pm

Hi

I was trading in-play earlier using a spreadsheet, and the refresh rate was automatically set to 2.6, which made it too slow to be effective.

Is there any way I can speed up the refresh rate please (ideally without incurring data charges! )?

Thanks

Jeff

PS The same spreadsheet is now showing a refresh rate of 3.3 (with no other tabs running).

Why has it increased?

Thanks

Hi,

Betfair no longer have a data request charge so you don't need to worry about that.
If you use multiple tab pages then I would recommend turning off throttling in Preferences as it is no longer required.
When you link to Excel the refresh rate is the same as whatever you have in Betting Options but can be set in Excel.
From Excel you can change the refresh rate using cell Q2 by entering the number seconds refresh you require.
If want to know price changes as and when they happen then use the new version with Price Streaming and set it to Full Stream.
You can control streaming using triggers in Q2.

Hi,

Yes the Transaction charge for going over a 1000 bets in an hour is still charged.
But there is no data request charge now.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
