Soccer BSP resulsts

Postby bolpx001 » Wed May 03, 2017 11:56 am

I am wondering if anybody can help, I am looking for the BSP results for major soccer completions like the English Premiership, FA Cup, Champions League etc. for 2016 and 2015 - I downloaded results for the Belfair site and although there was a huge amount of data I couldn't see any BSP returns - best regards Paul

Hi alrodopial

I am not sure, I must place a trial bet and see. I came across the link below in my search for results but I am not sure if it still applies. What I am trying to do is to test an idea that I am pretty sure won't work but if I don't test it, it will bug the hell out of me until I do :( - best regards Paul

I thought you could get BSP on English Premiership and Champions League matches.
I remember seeing some communication from Betfair on it.

It might only be on match odds.

Hi StuT
You may well be right, I just took a random football match and tried to do €20 BACKSP bet and got a cannot accept bet response. I will try the same on a Premiership race and see how I get on - best regards Paul

Hi StuT
You are correct I just did a BACKSP on the West Ham v Tottenham game tomorrow and it took it :) now all I need are the historical results - best regards Paul

http://www.football-bet-data.com/ gives a wealth of odds on different markets, also a "estimated Exchange odds" which it looks like a just a percentage uplift on the bookmaker odds. Maybe the best approach, using actual bookmaker odds as the benchmark and adding an uplift to estimate the exchange SP

Thanks vanbuuts Seems strange that Betfair doesn't offer the historical data. What I really like to do is to test the viability of an idea with historical data then if the historical data doesn't offer encouragement, I abandon or amend the idea. This approach saves me investing a lot of time and energy before moving on to the next stages. I suspect however in this instance I will be betting in small stakes to build the database I need, a long and tedious process but what can you do? - thanks again for your help and best regards Paul

Reckon you'd be better off using the data from footballdata.co.uk, the BSP data on football is very small in comparison and betfair prices are always in line with bookies otherwise they get arbed so prices form soeone like pinnacle would be very reliable to guage any system. Plus if you're straight betting you'll be much better off using someone like Pinnacle who don't have PC charges etc and generally better prices after comms taken into account.

Thanks Captain, Am I correct in thinking from your last post that the SP from Pinnacle would be very similar to the BSP from Betfair and that I could use their data to see if my idea was viable? - best regards Paul

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
