Declared Runners

Postby siony1974 » Mon Aug 15, 2016 1:29 pm

Hi,

I have BA linked to an Excel sheet. The sheet reloads the quick pick list after midnight to get the UK and IRE Win markets for the day.
The sheet then runs through the card recording race time and number of runners. The problem I have is that this particualr betting strategy relies on the declared runners number. This determines the bet type for qualifying races. The 2:30 at Chelmsford today (15/8/16) Betfair still has Touch the Clouds showing at the bottom of the list (1:05 pm) with Non-runner next to it where as BA had taken it off the race list when I reloaded it last night.
The 8 runners declared would have made the bet a dutch, 7 runners showing on BA means the bet type would have been Fav Win.

Is there any way we can get the BA list with the non-runners still on there? Is there the possibility of getting a 'declared runners' value in one of the cells that are refreshed when BA is linked to Excel?

Having a Declared Runners cell or the (NR) info would also be ideal for opportunities when it comes to place betting. I love declared 9 runner races then maybe 4 runners become NR's on the day. Race is still 3TBP so the chance of finding a winning bet are greatly increased even if the odds will propbably be lower than expected. I might not have been interested in the race at 9 runners when seen in the morning but I would happily set my excel sheet to alert me when the race came up later in the day that the smaller field may in fact have produced a great betting opportunity.

If BA kept the non-runners on the list with the usual (NR) format I could count all the runners then use a formula to find and subtract any runners with the (NR) text next to them to get the actual number of runners.

Or is there another way to get the declared runners number from the BA output to Excel?

Hi,

Cell G3 displays the number of non-runners.

As usual, really easy fix once it's pointed out. Answer right under my nose all along.
Many thanks for the swift reply as always.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
