Markets fail to load

Postby surround » Mon Aug 01, 2016 11:29 pm

For the last two days while trying to access Betting Assistant I can't get further than the markets trying to load.
"Fetching Markets". Please Wait. Retry #xx.
I have uninstalled BA and reinstalled - rebooted numerous times - deposited more $$ into Betfair account without success.
I'm getting to the end of my trial and evaluating whether to continue or not.
I have to say I was quite happy with how it operated up 'til now.

And forgot to add that sometimes I get a "General API Error".

I had the same two symptoms yesterday too.
The strange thing was that logging in at Betfair
was still possible and nobody on the Betfair
forum complained about any problems.

Well going close to three days now so looks like Betting Assistant won't be for me. Pity.
I can also log in to Betfair no problems.
I looked at earlier comments on similar problems and there was mention of temp log files etc. but there are none in my temp folder.

The "Fetching Markets" loop is usually down to Betfair or your internet connection , are you using a wired or wireless connection? Reloading the quick pick does seem to be very hit and miss these days, I have my bots set to refresh overnight and so many times the AUS stuff gets missed, yesterday did it manually and all markets loaded except the AUS stuff ith no warnings or error messages.

Well Hallelujah - they loaded today on the first attempt.
But I hope what just occurred isn't a common event?
I don't know what to think regarding BA now.
I have a wired Broadband connection which is pretty fast compared to the ADSL connections but I could change it to wireless.
But all good for now looks like.

change the markets that the market tree loads at the beginning and keep only those you want e.g. only soccer
This will improve things a lot

As this is anything but obvious:
You can choose which sports should load and which shouldn't by clicking on the star button next to the Refresh button.

Thanks guys.
I have just ticked only horse racing and see that it does load quicker so that should take some load off the operation.
So fingers crossed no more API errors.
Thanks again.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
