Mobile Data for a week

Postby StuT » Tue Jul 26, 2016 1:01 pm

Hi there,

I am going away for a week where there will be no Internet access so I intend to my laptop with BA using a 3G/4G mobile data dongle.
My question is, what size of mobile data dongle would be sufficient.

This is what I will be doing:
- Place an Excel Triggered single bet at the scheduled start of each race
- Move onto the next race at the Actual Off.
- I will do this every day for a week on both UK and AUS horse racing.

Does anyone know what size of Mobile data dongle I would need?

Thanks a lot.

On my vps total inbound and outbound traffic is approx 7Gb per week. I have 2 bots running using gruss and excel. One refreshes at 0.2s for the 6 minutes pre start Uk dogs and aus horses. The other is at 1s refresh for 1 minute before Uk horses. Both are at 3s refresh at all other times.

So it would depend on your refresh rate and period of use but I'd guess 2Gb would be enough.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
