.NET Framework

Postby dylan77 » Wed Feb 10, 2016 12:57 am

Over the last few weeks, I have been unable to start Betfair Betting Assistant. Up until this point, it was working fine. I now get the error message "To run this application, you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:
v.2.0.50727
Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework"

I am running Windows 10.
I cannot find any .NET Framework versions listed in Programs and Features or Apps and Features.
Using a Microsoft article, I have checked the registry and see that I have versions 2.0.50727, 3, 3.5 and 4 installed. I must have the requested version, as it was working previously. However, another program that also requires the .NET Framework has stopped working. Could Windows 10 have done an update and affected my installation?

I have downloaded three different installation files for v2, but none do anything beyond asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC?"

How can I uninstall and reinstall the .NET Framework? Is that the solution? Has anyone else had the same problem???

Thanks!

Hi,

Microsoft Framework 2.0 is included in 3.5 when you enable it in Windows 10.

See https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_install/how-to-instal-net-framework-35-on-windows-10/450b3ba6-4d19-45ae-840e-78519f36d7a4?auth=1

If it is already enabled then it would suggest something has got corrupted on your PC.

Are you able to use Windows System Restore to go back to a date when it was working?
If that is not an option then a re-install of Windows would probably be the only option.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
