Won't load first race after triggered Market reload

Postby JIFFIJAW » Tue Jul 07, 2015 10:36 am

I use the -3 in the Q2 cell of the Excell sheet to reload the markets at 1.00 each morning in preparation for the day's racing. The PC is then switched to Hibernate and powers up at 11.00 in the morning and races are sected at 5 mins to scheduled off through BA. This has worked fine for a long time, but recently the first race of the day won't load -- BA sits there with the "market loading" showing but it never actually loads the market. I have to close BA and reopen it.

It is possible that I have accidentally changed a setting somewhere, but I've no idea what -- any ideas???

I find the "market loading" problem is usually due to some problem with the excel sheet. Do you hibernate straight after your routine is due to run? Sometimes the aus markets can be a pain and take ages to load, is it possible you're shutting down before your routine has completed? Any reason why you don't want to run your market reload routine after the PC powers up at 11, it'd make much more sense to have markets reloaded closer to the off time tbh and should stop any errors with it hibernating mid routine.

Hi JIFFIJAW, just wondering here if you were able to find a fix for this so far?

Hi thanks for the interest and suggestions. I still have the problem but it would probably help if I describve the problem a bit better -- I was mixing up Market Loads with individual race loads in my description of the problem.

I run a PC permanently on at home -- even when I go off travelling abroad -- running my betting robot. It successfully loads the new day's UK and Irish horse racing Quick Pick List everyday. This is done by having a -3 at the Q2 trigger Excel cell timed to run at 1:00 every morning. This works perfectly. I additionally use the BA Market>Auto Select Markets>5 minutes to select a horse race 5 minutes before the scheduled off. It is this that keeps hanging. It used to work perfectly and I can't think of anything I've done that has stopped it working??

At 5 minutes to the first race of the day it selects the race in the quick pick list but then just shows the "Market Loading" message on BA and hangs there. The only way to get it going is to close BA and reopen -- reset Log Current Price and Auto Select Markets etc. Which is fine if I'm able to do that (I use Teamviewer to manage the home PC remotely) but it rather defeats the purpose of a system that runs itself!

Any suggestions welcome.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
