Copy and paste

Postby Hill16 » Thu Apr 30, 2015 11:04 am

Strange problem - I'm using the Excel sheet from here to place bets from a list of horses:

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3557

When I copy and paste the list, it doesn't seem to work - but if I actually type them, it does. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Wayne

where from you copy?
probably you need to user the trim function in excel... google it
the 2 names should be exactly the same.. check your source spelling.

Hi, I'm copying it from a racing system builder excel sheet but even when the spelling and spacing etc are exactly the same, it still fails. Yet when I re-type over it, it works!

Hi,

There could be hidden spaces at the end of your copied selection names which would make it not work.
If you go on to one of the selection names and press F2 to edit does it show extra spaces at the end of name?
If yes, then you need to remove the spaces or adjust the place bets sheet to ignore them.

Thanks folks,

Yes, it looks like there is extra spaces at the end of the selection names. I'll remove them and try it out on Friday's racing. Thanks again,

Just wanted to say that the trim function worked - thanks a million.

By the way, do these spreadsheets work the same way for Betdaq or is there any difference?

Thanks.

Hi,

It works in the same way.
There are some differences in that not all the same data is output from Betdaq due to it not being available.
What is there is output in the same cells as the Betfair version.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
