Close all positions via Excel trigger

Postby vanbuuts » Fri Jan 09, 2015 9:20 am

Is it possible to "close all positions" (which I assume is the same as the cash out button on Betfair) via an Excel trigger? The triggers that I have used so far have required the user to enter the odds and stake. If the odds are unknown and I want to "cash out" is it possible to do this via Excel rather than using the Gruss interface and clicking the "close all positions" button?

Many thanks in advance

There's no current 'green up' trigger but one's being coded I think, there is also a green up sheet in the spreadsheet examples viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4659 .

I don't envy Gary writing a green up trigger as it can get complicated for the best result and even the current close all positions isn't the most efficient method, probably best to write your own to be honest

Hi, thanks. I checked out the sheet but its not really what I was after.

I assumed there'd be some way of triggering the "close all positions" function via Excel.

Hi,

As Captain Sensible said, there is no trigger for this at the moment.
It is in the pipeline and will be in a future version.

Is there any update on the green up facility within Excel?

The example sheets are ok, but they focus mainly on pre match / race running, and are auto triggered rather than manually by macro. They also do not work if you have additional columns selected (SP Odds, Jockey Name etc) as this over rights the columns used for Green Up calcs.

TIA

I think this is still a work in progress. I'd wait for it too.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
