Quick Help Needed

Postby tranmerekev » Wed Dec 24, 2014 3:37 pm

Hi

It's been a few years since I used Gruss, and with no UK/Ire racing today, I can't test what I want to do.

I'm using the basic "place bets on a selection of horses" spreadsheet, kindly available on here for free.

I just want to confirm if I'm doing it right.

Obviously I add the racing to the Quick Pick List, and set the timer.

In the spreadsheet (Selections sheet), is this correct? The stuff in brackets is what I want to do.

Column A: Horse name (Red Rum)
Column C: Stake (£10)
Column D: Bet Type: (LAYSP)
Column E: Min Odds (1.01)
Column F: Max Odds (10)

I am hoping this will Lay all the horses in my list at Betfair SP no higher than odds of 10, to a maximum £10 liability.

Is this right?

Also, I've looked through the forum, and I can't work out if I have to do anything to the Markets sheet. Do I leave this alone, or is there anything I need to add?

Much appreciated in advance, and best wishes for the Festive Period.

OK, so today's the first time I've been able to use the software, and the bets are being matched up to a point.

I'm loading the markets up one minute before off time, the bets are firing in at SP but Betfair are setting the maximum lay odds at the price they are one minute before the off

So, for example, I'm laying £10 liability and the lay price is 3.8 when the bet is fired, but my bet is a lay at max odds of 3.8, so if the horse drifts in the 60 seconds before the off, it won't get matched.

In the selection sheet I have set the max odds for 10, but that doesn't seem to do the trick.

Is there an obvious/easy solution?

Cheers.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
