Soccer - Fixtures no longer lists fixtures by date

Postby DrDoNowt » Wed Dec 03, 2014 12:39 am

When the "Soccer - Fixtures" sport object is returned, I expect this to contain sub objects of fixture dates, and within this the individual fixtures, and under this the individual markets.

This is how it used to work.

using
For Each sport In sports
If sport.sport = "Soccer - Fixtures" Then

e.g.

Soccer - Fixtures
Fixtures 2nd Dec
Barcelona Vs Real Madrid
Match odds
Correct Score
Fixtures 3rd Dec
Man Utd Vs Arenal
Match odds
Correct Score

Now this works in this way
Soccer - Fixtures
Spanish soccer
English soccer

it now appears that "Soccer - Fixtures" Returns the same as "Soccer"

Please can you sort this out. this has messed up my whole fixture list capture.

I have fixed this, but am working on another issue so cannot release it right now. I will hopefully provide an update later today.

I'm sorry to be a pain, but this is still not working.

This used to be, the date - then all the fixtures - then the markets

Now this appears to be the fixture date, then the competition - then the high level market, then the fixture date (again?) and then the markets

it's pretty much unusable in its current form as the structure does is not even consistent through the events.

This is STILL not working, and is still unusable.

I am going to cancel my subscription as you have had plenty of time to sort this out and still have not done this simple fix.

Just put the soccer - fixtures tree back to how it was previously!!!

Not sure why you're ignoring my requests for this issue to be fixed. Your software is currently unusable for me.

Cancelling my subscription. Which is a shame as I was actually happy with the software before the API changes which messed it up in the latest version

I'm sorry you feel that way. I got stuck dealing with another issue which prevented me from releasing any updates. If you still want me to look into this I will do my best to sort it out by Monday. If not then I won't make it a priority as it has only affected you.

Yes Please.

Not sure how it can only have effected me though, surely anyone who used the soccer - fixtures event tree will have the same issue?

Basically if I go into soccer fixtures, I don't care under this what the competition is.

the tree should be / used to be:

Soccer fixtures - fixtures 17th Jan - Derby vs forest - match odds.

Thank you

Ok I am working on it. Basically the API no longer provides the data in a hierarchical format so I had to emulate the old calls.

Hopefully this now works how you require. Please install version 1.3.0.15a from the link below.

You can also download the spreadsheet I used to test it here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Excel/S ... e_COM.xlsm which also demonstrates using recursion to load the tree.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
