vba help

Postby Roadhouse » Sun Nov 30, 2014 1:36 am

Hi could anyone help me I have a workbook (there are about 500 sheets) and in every sheet in that book there is data in F5:F10000 I want to do this sum F6-F5,F7-F6,F8-F7 etc all the way down and if the answer is greater or = to 3 I want to highlight that row and put the differences in D1, E1 etc for e.g if there were 3 answers => 3 then these 3 answers would go in D1,E1,F1 etc and the 3 rows would be highlighted. Can anyone help me with some vba code for this please?

You don't need VBA for this.: simple formulae and conditional formatting will do it. Some of the Excel forums will show you how to do it.

Hi thanks for the replies, I don't think I've explained myself very well I don't want to input the sum down the column I would like the vba to just calculate the value in memory for F6-f5 , F7-F6, F8-F7 etc for F5:F10000 on all 500 sheets in the workbook and the rows where there is a difference equal or greater then 3 it would highlight these rows and put the difference at the top of the sheet. so for e.g. it found two values greater then 3 in F6-F5 which was 4 and say F23-F22 which was 5. These rows would highlighted and the differences 4 and 5 would be put in D1 and E1 and if there was more values greater then 3 say four values these then would go in D1/E1/F1/G1 and the rows would be highlighted.

For something this in depth I'd use the "Find an Excel developer" forum. :)

No offence mate but as this problem has nothing to do with gruss or betting why don't you just go to an excel board with the problem?... :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
