Keeping records ?

Postby woods » Sun Nov 27, 2011 5:51 pm

Is it possible to keep a record of the bets made through a specific excel workbook, that extends beyond a day ?

What I would like is to have a record of my bets for say an entire month. But I have found that the BA will overwrite the entries in the results sheet, when it logs results the next day..

What I do is that at the end of every day I save the work book as a different name say the workbook is called BAexcel.xlsm then, if today’s date is 28th Nov. 2011 I save it as 111128_BAexcel.xlsm. You could also write a VBA macro to copy the data you want to a master file. It is also worth remembering that Betfair keeps a record of your bets which is accessible by clicking on My Account on the main Betfair page after logging in and then Clicking on Account Statement or Betting History.

Thanks bolpx

I will probably look at doing a macro, when I have the time. That will append the results to a list in another sheet and add the date. Should be possible I think. So far I have just looked at my betfair account, and written down the odds and if it won or lost. So will continue with that, or saving the workbook with a timestamp, for the time being. Just wanted to be sure there was not some inbuild functionality like that, I had overlooked.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
