USER_NOT_ACCOUNT_OWNER

Postby Graham » Fri May 27, 2011 1:34 pm

Just got this message when I tried to access a new betfair account via gruss today. It's a master account which was set up today. I can log in via the website, but cant unfortunately log in via BA. Do I have to wait a wee while to be able to log in via BA? Many thanks.

I know this message is possible, but this is the first time I've seen it. It might be because it's not registered for API access. Try visiting www.gruss-software.co.uk and registering by clicking on the downloads link at the top of the page. Fill in your username, email address etc. and click on the download button. This will take you to another download link but you don't need to go further because at that point it is registered.

thanks, i did that for the sub accounts as I saw those instructions on another thread regarding a second betfair account. I assume that I cannot start the subscriptions for the sub accounts until the 30 day trial period is up, or can I just start the subscriptions now?

Captain - i just asked, called the helpdesk. Had to tell them why and anticipated turnover. I suppose it helps that I pay a lot in commission. Depressingly, it is my largest outgoing each month, by a very long way, even on a losing month!!

RJM - its just an account from which you can have operate sub accounts.

Thanks, I'll have to give them a call sometime as I run some bots on a separate account and it 's annoying that they're happy to lumo them for PC but when it comes to comms I can't take advantage of the main acc which is in the 3's

If you are paying pc then surely it makes no difference overall though? Your commission will always be made up to 20%, so there is no benefit from having a lower rate on a linked account?

The difference between how much a PC player on 5% and 2% can be quite a big difference plus it's a lot easier to look at PC avoidance if your comm rate is the same or lower than the implied comm rate of 3%.

For a 2% player your losers are earning more comms than winning bets so cross market arbs can help quite a bit.

Wow, I did not realise what a difference commission rates make to PC.

I have never really looked at it very closely, as I am on over 40%, but i have just played about with numbers in a spreadsheet to try to get an understanding, and it really makes a huge difference!

My apologies for my incorrect assumption earlier Captain. I stand, well and truly, corrected!!!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
