Greyhound Spreadsheet Question

Postby jagdishbhat » Thu Mar 24, 2011 4:39 pm

Hi All, I'm new here and new to betting as such. I was wondering if someone here could help.

How do I go about setting up a trigger spreadsheet from the scratch to do the following for each race:

For every race do the following:

Back 2nd, 3rd & 4th Fav in Win Market
Lay 2nd, 3rd & 4th Fav in Place Market
Back 1st Fav in Place Market

Would I need to run multiple instances of the spreadsheet to cater for each of the above bet scenarios or can it all be combined into 1 single spreadsheet?

Thanks,

Jag

If you want someone to design a spreadsheet from scratch you can ask in the 'Find an Excel developer' forum. If you want to have a go yourself and learn (it will cost you less in the long run :]) try adapting a template in the help file or 'Sample Triggered Betting Excel Sheets' on the forum. You'll get much more help here when you have at things yourself.

What you've asked is possible but your post is quite vague as to what exactly odds/stake are acceptable. To identify the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc check out the RANK function in excel

Come back if you need more help

Thanks osknows...I might have a crack at it and if I bugger it up, I'll shout for help !

some of the key triggers are:

- do not back 2nd, 3rd or 4th Fav if 1st Fav is odds on fav( eg less than 2.5)
- for the lays in the place market, max lay price = 3.15
- skip race if there are joint favs

Also nice to have would be some form of loss recovery.

cheers,

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
