Cancel bets excel trigger

Postby Captain Sensible » Sat Jun 19, 2010 7:07 pm

Is there a cancel all bets trigger we can use for all selections within the market? I've been using CANCEL-ALL but it seems this cancels the bets one at a time rather than as one array of cancelbets. Was wondering if it'd be possible to have a trigger use CancelBetsByMarket as it'd possibly be more efficient and remove the need for all selections to have cancel-all + a betref in them

CANCEL-ALL is to cancel all bets for that selection so it will request an array of bets if there are multiple bets for the same selection.

There isn't currently a CANCEL-ALL for the market. I will include one in the next few releases.

I've just added CANCEL-ALL-MARKET trigger to the latest Beta. It's not on general release yet, maybe you would like to try it for us. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4992

Like CANCEL-ALL it needs something in the bet ref column, anything will do, eg. "DUMMY". I think it's best this way as it provides a way of confirming it has worked. When it has worked the bet ref is cleared.

Thanks Gary I should have made it a bit clearer by saying it didn't appear to send an array of cancelbets for all selection and seemed to step thru them one at a time. The new trigger should be much more efficient and simpler for closing out markets.

I'd agree with with having something in the betref column as like you say it gives some sort of confirmation the triggers fired and worked. I'll give it a go tomorrow as all my stuff is up and running for today, thanks again

Tried it out this morning and the trigger works fine seems much better to clear the bets in one swoop.

One problem I did notice is that when I'm viewing another market in a separate tab once the cancel-all-market trigger fires in the other tab it appears to clear the umatched bets from the market I'm viewing in the bet manager bottom screen too, then they appear back on the next refresh when I guess the market does a getbets request.

Think the grey borders in a few places could be tidied up too as they give the prog an unbalanced look but they're just aesthetic niggles

The bets on the second tab do seem to flicker also so don't know if the data's getting mixed up by some duplicate named arrays or something.

I've not been able to replicate this yet. Had done any re-arranging of tabs prior to this, eg. closing tabs and opening new tabs?

Had you at any point opened the same market in two separate tabs? I'm thinking it might have something to do with the new code that checks if the same market is being logged in separate tabs and shares the requests.

I have found something and it's the code that shares the requests between the same market on separate tabs. It's not quite right. I am fixing it.

Thanks Gary, the same market would have been opened in both tabs at some time as the bot loops thru the markets

I have uploaded a new build to fix this problem. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewt ... 2&start=30

I have started tidying up the grid. The book % column headers still look a bit messy, but I am working on it.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
