laying tennis matches

Postby ovadij » Fri Jun 04, 2010 10:30 pm

I wonder if it's possible to place a lay, say at 1.01, on every tennis match that is played during the day? The lay is to be placed for both opponents.

It's not possible in one operation. It can help you locate the matches though.

1) Select Market|Add to quick pick list|All in play tennis match odds
2) Tick "Keep in play" in betting options
3) Select each market one by one in the quick pick list and use the "Lay field" button.

The above should only take a few minutes.

To continue with this topic, Gary, I`d like to lay each tennis match in the quick pick list say at 1.5 and 1.3. What would be the best way for it? Would "Lay field" twice for each match still work? Now when there are 50 matches a day at Wimbledon it takes quite some time to lay the field in every match. I don`t mind using excel but the problem is that in tennis "Auto select markets / At specific time before off" is not as usefull due to random times the matches start and excel can`t automatically switch from one match to the other.

I have a feeling I`m not using the software in the best way. Thank you.

I don't think Excel and auto select markets is appropriate for what you want to do. You can place all your bets in the morning in one go if you set them as "keep" bets which do not cancelled when the market turns in play.

Here is a video showing how I would place the bets. I used odds of 1.03 and 1.05 in my example for illustration purposes. I lay 3 markets at 1.03, change the odds to 1.05 and then lay the same 3 markets. As you can see it would only take a few minutes to go through 50 matches.

Just wondering if there was any chance of considering it please? No probs if a pain though.

It's still on the list. It may be implemented some time in July.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
